If you are looking for a cozy rental to enjoy Asheville and the surrounding area, this is definitely the place. The kitchen/laundry is well-equipped and the bedrooms are very comfortable and nicely decorated. The media and internet access is great. This location can't be beat and Lisa is great to work with. Mark and Meghna: Sept 1, 2009 - Jan 5, 2010. Perfect place from us to stay while in Asheville. It truly is like staying at a friend's house. We both work from home, so the wireless internet and comfortable space was invaluable. The location is within 10 minutes of most every destination we frequent (restaurants, grocery store, movies, coffee, shopping mall, blue ridge parkway, downtown, you name it.... its close). Yet, the location on the hill allows for lots of peace and quiet and very little noise from the few cars that pass by everyday... very peaceful living... and the neighbors are great and very respectful. Everything is provided from Kitchen pots/pans/knives/utensils to linens/full size washer & dryer/toaster/coffee maker... even soap/paper towels/aluminum foil/dishwasher soap/cleaning supplies/zip lock bags... use it, then replace it, works great for us. We really can't think of anything we needed that wasn't provided. Lisa was great, easy to work with, excellent communicator and very responsive to any of our questions... she clearly loves Rocking Porch and so do we. Rocking Porch is top of our list for places to stay while in Asheville, our home away from home. Thanks Lisa !

In May 2007, my father had to have heart surgery at the VA hospital. I was very fortunate to have found Rocking Porch to rent. The location was within a few minutes of the hospital. I did not know much about Asheville and the surroundings, but Lisa was very helpful. Rocking Porch was also so close to shopping and dining. My unfortunate experience with my father turned out to be a mini-vacation in disguise. The Biltmore house was close enough to visit without wondering too far from the VA hospital (in case of an emergency). Rocking Porch was a wonderful place to stay. The decor was wonderful. I was impressed the minute that I walked in the door. Every thing that I needed was there--washer, dryer, cooking appliances, free long distance calls, grill, etc. I enjoyed having a cup of coffee every morning from one of the rocking chairs on the front porch. Listening to the birds and petting the neighbor's cat was relaxing. I enjoyed the mountain view as well. The neighborhood was quite and peaceful and friendly. Bears had been seen in the area shortly before my visit. I was hoping to see some, but did not. Because they are considered dangerous, I guess it is a good thing that I did not see any. I hope to visit Rocking Porch again someday. (Luckily, my father has been well and has not had to return for any more surgeries.) It has been two years since my visit, but I have not forgotten this wonderful place. Lisa and Rocking Porch really turned a bad situation into a pleasant and rememorable one. My family members which visited Rocking Porch we impressed as well. Thanks again Lisa.

I really enjoyed looking at the beauty and lovely decorated home you own. I at this point don't know if I'll be renting since I need something for six months starting in Dec.
